Ingredients for Fried Cheese Sandwich Recipe

  • White bread slices 8

  • Emmental cheese slices 8

  • Cheddar cheese strips 20-24

  • Mayonnaise 3-4 tablespoons

  • Garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Onion powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Pickled jalapenos , finely chopped 1/2 teaspoon

  • Eggs 2

  • Milk 2 tablespoons

  • Oil for shallow frying

  • Breadcrumbs as required

Method

Step 1

Take mayonnaise in a bowl, add garlic powder, onion powder and pickled jalapenos and mix well.

Step 2

Break eggs into another bowl, add milk and beat well.

Step 3

For each sandwich spread mayonnaise mixture over two slices. Place 2 slices of emmental cheese and 5-6 cheddar cheese strips over one slice and cover with the other slice. Press lightly and cut into 2 equal triangles.

Step 4

Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick pan.

Step 5

Spread breadcrumbs on a plate. Dip each triangle in the egg mixture, roll in the breadcrumbs till well coated on all sides. Keep them in the pan and shallow-fry, turning sides, till evenly golden and crisp on all sides. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 6

Arrange them on a serving platter and serve immediately with tomato ketchup.
