French Toast Sandwich

It is made by filling bread slices with a flavorful mixture of shredded chicken, cheese, and spices, dipping them in eggs, and cooking them to a golden brown colour. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 8 white bread slices
  • Salt to taste
  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste
  • 2 chicken breasts, boiled and shredded 
  • ¼ cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • ¼ cup process cheese, grated
  • ¼ cup spring onion greens, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • Butter as required
  • Tomato ketchup to serve
  • Potato chips to serve

Method

  1. In a bowl, add chicken, mozzarella cheese, processed cheese, red chilli flakes, crushed black peppercorns, salt, spring onion greens and mayonnaise, mix well.
  2. In another bowl, break in the eggs, add salt, crushed black peppercorns, whisk well and set aside.
  3. On a slice of bread, add a portion of the prepared chicken mixture and top it with another slice of bread.
  4. Heat a little butter on a non-stick tawa and let it melt, meanwhile, dip the prepared sandwiches in the eggs mixture on both sides.
  5. Place the sandwich on the melted butter and toast on both sides till golden brown. Take it off the heat.
  6. Cut the sandwiches diagonally and serve hot with tomato ketchup and potato chips.
