Ingredients
- 3 eggs boiled, peeled and chopped
- ½ cup mozzarella cheese, grated
- ½ cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 3 tablespoons spring onion greens chopped
- Salt to taste
- Crushed black peppercorns to taste
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- Oil to deep fry
- 1 cup cheese balls
- Refined flour slurry as required
- Tomato ketchup to serve
Method
- Take eggs in a bowl, add mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, spring onion greens, salt, crushed black pepper and mayonnaise and mix well.
- Divide the egg and cheese mixture into equal portions and shape them into balls.
- Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan.
- Put cheese balls in a plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin. Transfer to a plate.
- Take refined flour slurry in a bowl. Dip each egg ball in the flour slurry and coat with crushed cheese balls. Once again, dip the balls in slurry and coat them with crushed cheese balls.
- Gently slide the egg balls into hot oil and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange them in a serving bowl and serve hot with ketchup.
