Ingredients 

  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 cup yogurt, whisked
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • A pinch asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Method

  1. Heat one cup of water in a pan, add walnuts and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and allow to cook for two to three minutes. Drain and discard the water. Grind the walnuts to a smooth paste. Transfer into a bowl.
  2. Add red chilli powder, whisked yogurt, chopped onion, chopped green chillies, asafoetida and salt. Mix well. Serve garnished with mint leaves.
