Ingredients list for Dal with Drumsticks
- 2-3 Drumsticks scraped and cut into 2 inch pieces
- 2 cups Split pigeon pea (toor dal/arhar dal) pressure cooked with turmeric powder
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Green chillies chopped
- 2-3 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- to taste Salt
- a pinch Asafoetida
- ½ teaspoon Tamarind pulp
- ½ cup Scraped coconut fresh
Method
- Put cooked pigeon peas in a non-stick pan, add drumsticks, onion, green chillies and coriander leaves and mix well. Add some water, mix and bring to boil. Cover and cook on low heat for 6-7 minutes.
- Add salt, asafoetida and tamarind pulp, mix and cook till drumsticks are fully done.
- Add coconut and mix well.
- Serve hot.
