Ingredients list for Crispy Fried Chicken

  • 8 Chicken drumsticks
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black peppercorns crushed
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 3/4 cup Yogurt
  • to deep fry Oil
  • 3/4 cup Refined flour
  • 1/2 cup Rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon Dried herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
  • 1 cup Cornflakes
  • to serve Tomato ketchup


  1. Make incisions all around the chicken drumsticks and place them in a bowl. Add salt, crushed black peppercorns and ginger-garlic paste, mix well and set aside to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Take yogurt in a large bowl, add 1½ cups water and whisk till well combined. Add this mixture to the chicken, mix well and set aside to marinate for 25-30 minutes more.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  4. Take refined flour on a plate, add rice flour, salt, crushed black peppercorns, dried herbs and red chilli flakes and mix well. Crush and add cornflakes and mix well.
  5. Roll each chicken drumstick in the flour mixture till they are well coated on all sides. Slide them into hot oil and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  6. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
