Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Crispy Fried Chicken Recipe

  • Chicken drumsticks 8

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Yogurt 3/4 cup

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Refined flour 3/4 cup

  • Rice flour 1/2 cup

  • Dried herbs 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli flakes 1/2 teaspoon

  • Cornflakes 1 cup

  • Tomato ketchup to serve

Method

Step 1

Make incisions all around the chicken drumsticks and place them in a bowl. Add salt, crushed black peppercorns and ginger-garlic paste, mix well and set aside to marinate for 15-20 minutes.

Step 2

Take yogurt in a large bowl, add 1½ cups water and whisk till well combined. Add this mixture to the chicken, mix well and set aside to marinate for 25-30 minutes more.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 4

Take refined flour on a plate, add rice flour, salt, crushed black peppercorns, dried herbs and red chilli flakes and mix well. Crush and add cornflakes and mix well.

Step 5

Roll each chicken drumstick in the flour mixture till they are well coated on all sides. Slide them into hot oil and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 6

Arrange them on a serving plate and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
