Ingredients list for Cornmeal Fritters
- 1/2 cup Cornmeal
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 tablespoons Margarine
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 2 drops Vanilla essence
- 1/2 cup Refined flour (maida)
- 1 Egg beaten
- to deep fry Oil
Method
- Mix refined flour and cornmeal in a bowl.
- Add margarine, salt, baking powder and rub in till the mixture resembles bread crumbs. Add sugar, vanilla essence and milk and mix. Add egg and mix.
- Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick kadai. Drop spoons full of batter into the hot oil and deep fry until golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot.
