Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for Corn Bhel Recipe

  • Corn flakes 1½-2 cups

  • Cucumber peeled, deseeded and finely chopped 1 medium

  • Potato boiled, peeled and cut into small pieces 1 medium

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Tomato chopped 1 medium

  • Pomegranate pearls ¼ cup

  • Raw mango finely chopped ¼

  • Dried mango powder 1 teaspoon

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

  • Black salt (kala namak) 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • coriander leaves 1 tablespoon + for garnishing

  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons

  • Sev for garnishing


Step 1

Combine cucumber, potato, onion, tomato, pomegranate pearls, raw mango, corn flakes, dried mango powder, chaat masala, black salt and salt in a bowl and mix.

Step 2

Add coriander leaves and mix. Add lemon juice and mix well.

Step 3

Serve immediately garnished with some sev and coriander leaves.
