Ingredients list for Chole Canapes

  • 1 cup Chickpeas soaked and boiled
  • 16 Canape cases deep fried
  • 1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 medium Onion chopped
  • 3/4 cup Tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons Chana masala
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Tamarind chutney
  • 2-3 tablespoons Yogurt whisked
  • 1 tablespoon Green chutney

Method

  1. Heat extra virgin olive oil in a non stick pan, add onions and sauté till lightly browned.
  2. Add tomato puree, ginger paste and garlic paste and mix well. Sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Add chana masala and red chilli powder and mix. Continue to sauté for 2 minutes.
  4. Add boiled chana with ½ cup of the cooking stock and mix well.
  5. Add salt, imli chutney and mix. Cook till almost dry. Set aside to cool.
  6. Fill the canapés with the chane, top with a little yogurt and green chutney.
  7. Sprinkle a little red chilli powder and serve immediately.
