Ingredients list for Chinese Style Fish Fingers
- 2 Basa fish fillets cut into fingers
- for deep-frying Oil
- 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
- 1-2 Red chillies finely chopped
- to taste Crushed black peppercorns
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
- + for drizzling Oyster sauce 2-3 teaspoons
- 6-8 Basil leaves
- for coating Bread crumbs
- 1 Egg
- for garnish Spring onion greens chopped
Method
- Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
- Take fish fingers in a bowl. Add garlic, red chilies, crushed peppercorns, salt, soy sauce and oyster sauce and mix. Add torn basil leaves and mix well.
- Coat marinated fish fingers with bread crumbs.
- Beat an egg in a shallow plate and dip coated fingers and coat again with bread crumbs.
- Deep-fry these fingers in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Place fried fingers on a serving platter, drizzle some oyster sauce on top and garnish with spring onion greens.
- Serve hot.
