Ingredients list for Chinese Popcorn Prawns-SK Khazana
- 12-16 Medium prawns shelled, deveined and roughly chopped
- 1 tablespo to deep fry Oul
- 1 Egg white
- 2-3 tablespoons Cornflour
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Ginger chopped
- 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
- 1/2 cup Tomato ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon Lemon zest grated
- 1/2 teaspoon Vinegar
- for garnish Spring onion greens sliced
Method
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Put prawns in a bowl. Add egg white, cornflour and salt and mix well.
- Deep-fry prawns in hot oil till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan, add ginger and garlic and sauté till fragrant.
- Add tomato ketchup, chilli flakes, lemon zest and some water and mix well.
- Add salt and vinegar, mix well and remove from heat. Transfer the sauce into a serving bowl.
- Garnish prawn popcorns with spring onion greens and serve hot with the sauce.
