Ingredients list for Chicken in Creamy Barbeque Sauce

  • 2 Boneless chicken breasts cut into 1-2 inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Sour cream
  • ½ cup Barbeque sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 medium Onion sliced
  • 8-10 Button mushrooms sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard powder
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • to taste Salt
  • 4-5 for garnishing Fresh parsley sprigs
  • 2 cups Rice herbed


  1. Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a non-stick wok. Add chicken pieces and cook on high heat for 1 minute. Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes. Transfer on a plate.
  2. Heat remaining butter in the same non-stick wok. Add onion and sauté till golden. Add mushrooms and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Reduce heat, add barbeque sauce, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add mustard powder, crushed peppercorns and salt and mix. Add 2-3 tablespoons water, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add sour cream, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add cooked chicken, mix and cook on low heat for 2 minutes.
  5. Add torn parsley sprigs and mix.
  6. Put some chicken barbeque in a large tiffin box and put a layer of herbed rice on top. Repeat the layers till all the ingredients are used.
  7. Garnish with few torn parsley sprigs and serve.
