Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken in Creamy Barbeque Sauce Recipe

  • Boneless chicken breasts cut into 1-2 inch pieces 2

  • Sour cream 2 tablespoons

  • Barbeque sauce ½ cup

  • Butter 2 tablespoons

  • Onion sliced 1 medium

  • Button mushrooms sliced 8-10

  • Mustard powder 1 teaspoon

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh parsley sprigs 4-5 for garnishing

  • Rice herbed 2 cups


Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a non-stick wok. Add chicken pieces and cook on high heat for 1 minute. Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes. Transfer on a plate.

Step 2

Heat remaining butter in the same non-stick wok. Add onion and sauté till golden. Add mushrooms and sauté for 1 minute.

Step 3

Reduce heat, add barbeque sauce, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add mustard powder, crushed peppercorns and salt and mix. Add 2-3 tablespoons water, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 4

Add sour cream, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add cooked chicken, mix and cook on low heat for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Add torn parsley sprigs and mix.

Step 6

Put some chicken barbeque in a large tiffin box and put a layer of herbed rice on top. Repeat the layers till all the ingredients are used.

Step 7

Garnish with few torn parsley sprigs and serve.
