Ingredients list for Chicken Tikka Puff Cups

  • 250 grams Chicken Tikka readymade, cut into small pieces
  • for dusting Refined flour (maida) 1 teaspoon +
  • 400 grams puff pastry dough
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • ¼ cup Fresh cream
  • ½ teaspoon Chaat masala
  • to garnish coriander leaves chopped, 1 teaspoon +


  1. Preheat oven to180° C.
  2. Dust the worktop with some flour. Place the dough on it and roll out into 1 inch thick sheet.
  3. Cut out 8 roundels with a large cookie cutter. Place a smaller cookie cutter in the center of 4 roundels and cut to give them a doughnut shape.
  4. Place the 4 solid roundels on a baking tray. Apply water along their edges, place the 4 doughnut shaped roundels over them and press along the edges to seal.
  5. Brush with beaten egg, place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and onion, mix and sauté till the onion turns translucent.
  7. Add flour, mix and sauté. Add chili powder and mix well. Add cream and mix. Add little water, mix and cook for 30 seconds.
  8. Add chicken tikka and mix well. Add some more water to adjust the consistency. Cook for a minute.
  9. Add chaat masala and coriander leaves, mix well. Remove from heat and set aside.
  10. Press the insides of the baked puff with a spoon and fill them with the prepared chicken mixture. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve immediately.
