Ingredients list for Chicken Kali Mirch
- 4 Chicken drumsticks
- 1 teaspoon for garnish Black peppercorns (kali mirch) crushed
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 1 Black cardamom
- 2 Green cardamoms
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 3 Cloves
- 1 cup Boiled onion paste
- 2 teaspoons Green chilli paste
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
- 3/4 cup Mawa grated
- 1 tablespoon Kaju-magaz paste
- to taste Salt
- 1 pinch Green cardamom powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Dried fenugreek powder
- 2 tablespo for garnish Fresh cream
- 1/2 teaspoon Chaat masala
- for garnish Ginger strips
Method
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add black cardamom, green cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and onion paste, mix well and saute for 2 minutes.
- Add green chilli paste and mix well. Add chicken drumsticks, mix and sear on high heat for 2-3 minutes. Add yogurt, mix well and saute for 2 minutes.
- Add 1½ cups water, mix well, cover and cook till the chicken is ¾ done.
- Add mawa, kaju-magaz paste, salt, green cardamom powder and dried fenugreek powder and mix well. Add crushed black peppercorns, mix well, cover and cook till chicken is completely done.
- Add fresh cream and chaat masala and mix well and switch off the heat.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with ginger strips, fresh cream and crushed black peppercorns and serve hot.
