Ingredients list for Chawal aur Moong Dal ke Pakode
- 1/4 cup Leftover cooked kolam rice
- 1/2 cup Moong dal soaked for 5-6 hours
- for deep-frying Oil
- 1-2 Green chillies (Bhavnagri) finely chopped
- to taste Salt
- 1 tablespoon coriander leaves freshly chopped
- to taste Crushed black peppercorns
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Rice flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
Method
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Grind together green gram, green chillies and salt to a coarse paste. Transfer into a bowl and add rice, coriander leaves, crushed peppercorns and onion and mix well.Add rice flour and baking soda and mix well.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into pakoras.
- Gently slide them into hot oil, a few at a time, and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot.
