Ingredients list for Chatpata Fafda
- 1 1/2 cup Gram flour (besan)
- 1 cup + for deep-frying Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon Asafoetida
- 1/2 teaspoon Soda bicarbonate
- to taste Salt
- to taste Crushed black peppercorns
Method
- Combine 1 cup oil, soda and 1 cup water in a bowl and mix it with blender till white.
- Put gram flour in a bowl, add salt, cumin powder and asafoetida and the prepared mixture and mix well. Knead into a dough.
- Divide the mixture into balls and place each ball on a wooden worktop, stretch them straight to make a fafda. Similarly prepare the rest.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, deep-fry the fafada till yellow and crisp on both the sides. Sprinkle salt and crushed peppercorns.
- Serve hot.
