Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- 3/4 cup chocolate + to sprinkle
- 1 teaspoon green cardamom seeds
- 5-6 cloves
- 6-7 black peppercorns
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds (saunf)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons honey
Method
- Combine fennel seeds, cardamom seeds, cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon, nutmeg powder and ginger in a mortar. Crush with a pestle into a coarse mixture.
- Heat milk in a deep non-stick pan. Add crushed spice mixture and vanilla extract. Stir to mix and bring to a boil.
- Add chocolate powder and stir to mix. Add honey and stir again.
- Strain the drink into 4 individual cups. Sprinkle little chocolate powder on top and serve hot.
