Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for CHICKEN PUFF - skk Recipe

  • Boneless chicken breasts cut into strips 250 grams

  • Puff pastry dough as required

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Medium onion finely chopped 1

  • Salt to taste

  • Green chillies finely chopped 1-2

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Large tomato finely chopped 1

  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Processed cheese grated 2 tablespo For topping

  • Refined flour for dusting

  • Egg beaten 1

  • Tomato ketchup to serve

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add onion and sauté till translucent. Add salt and mix.

Step 2

Add green chillies and red chilli powder, mix and sauté for a minute. Add tomato, mix and saute till soft and pulpy.

Step 3

Add garam masala powder and mix well. Add chicken strips, mix and cook till fully done. Add cheese, mix and cook till it melts. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

Step 4

Preheat oven to 180̊ °C.

Step 5

Dust the worktop with some flour, place the dough on it and roll out into a large sheet and cut into squares after trimming the uneven edges.

Step 6

Place a spoonful of the cooked chicken in the centre of half the squares and top with some cheese. Cover with remaining squares, seal the edges by pressing with a fork.

Step 7

Brush the puffs with beaten eggs and place them on a butter paper lined baking tray. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Step 8

Take the tray out of the oven, place the puffs on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
