Ingredients list for Bun Puri
- 2½ cups + Refined flour (maida)
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
- a pinch Baking soda
- 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar
- 1 Banana ripe
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
- for deep-frying Oil
Method
- Combine refined flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, mashed banana and yogurt in a bowl. Add sufficient water and knead into a soft dough and set aside for 2-3 hours.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Divide dough into equal portions shaped into medium sized balls. Roll out into 4 inch round puris dusting with little flour.
- Dust off excess flour and deep-fry puris in hot oil, turning sides, till they puff up and golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot.
