Ingredients list for Brown Rice- Sk Khazana
- 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice washed, soaked for 30 minutes and drained
- 2 large Onions thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Ghee
- 4-5 Cloves
- 6-8 Black peppercorns
- 3-4 Green cardamoms
- 1 1/2 inch stick Cinnamon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Granulated sugar
- to taste Salt
- for garnish Fresh coriander sprigs
Method
- Heat ghee in a deep pan, add cloves, black peppercorns, green cardamoms, cinnamon stick and sauté till fragrant.
- Add onions and sauté till they turn a light golden. Add sugar, mix well and cook till the onions are caramelised.
- Add rice, salt and 3 cups water and mix well. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or till the rice is cooked completely. Take the pan off the heat.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
