  • 1 cup salted boondi
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
  • Salt to taste
  • 3-4 spring onion bulbs, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons choppedspring onion greens 
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • Fresh coriander sprig for garnish


  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, chilli powder, asafoetida, salt and spring onion bulbs, mix and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add spring onion greens, boondi and a little water, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add coriander leaves and mix well.
  3. Garnish with coriander sprigs and serve hot.
