Ingredients list for Banana Coconut Fritters

  • 4 Ripe bananas peeled and cut into long pieces
  • 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour/ corn starch
  • 1/4 cup Powdered sugar
  • a pinch Soda bicarbonate
  • 1/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
  • 2 tablespo for deep-frying Oil
  • 1/2 cup Dried coconut ( khopra) grated
  • 1 tablespoon Icing sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder


  1. Mixtogether refined flour, cornflour, powdered sugar, soda bicarbonate, green cardamom powder, cinnamon powder and little water to make a thick batter.
  2. Add 2 tbsps oil and dried coconut and mix well. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dip the bananas in maida batter and slide them in hot oil.
  3. Deep fry, on medium heat, till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  4. Transfer onto a serving plate. Sprinkle icing sugar and cocoa powder and serve hot.
