Ingredients list for Ambul Thiyal - SK Khazana
- 500 grams Shark fish baby fillet, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 6-7 Tamarind (gorake) soaked in water
- 2 inch Ginger sliced
- 3-4 Green chillies
- 1/2 inch stick Cinnamon
- to taste Salt
- 15-20 Curry leaves
- as required Banana leaves
- 1 teaspoon Oil
- Fresh coriander sprigs a few + for garnish
Method
- Out ginger, green chillies, cinnamon and gorake in a blender jar, add sufficient water and blend into a smooth paste.
- Take fish pieces in a bowl, add the ground paste, salt and curry leaves. Add a little water in which gorake was soaked and mix well.
- Line an earthen pot with a piece of banana leaf and grease it with a little oil. Place the fish pieces in it, add coriander sprigs, cover the pot and place it on heat. Cook till the fish is cooked completely.
- Transfer on to a serving plate, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
