These are stuffed puris – whole wheat dough balls stuffed with spiced sattu mixture, rolled into puris and deep-fried. These puris make a great weekend breakfast snack. Sattu has a very high content of protein making it a very valuable source for vegetarians and vegans too.
Stuffed paranthas can be made with a variety of stuffing, the most common amongst them being aloo, gobhi, mooli, paneer, mixed vegetable, pyaaz, methi. Here we are suggesting a different type of stuffing which is made with sattu.
Chokha is a mashed relish traditionally made with roasted or grilled eggplant, tomato or potato. But here we have used sattu, which is a roasted chana dal flour. High in protein and fibre it is a healthy alternate to any vegetable.
Sattu is roasted Bengal gram which is ground into a flour and used extensively in North India. Sattu is rich in protein and fiber and helps in boosting energy and stamina.
