White Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons refined Flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • A pinch of  nutmeg powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder

Method

  1. Take onion, wrap a bayleaf around it studding it with cloves at two ends. Place milk in a deep bowl, place the onion in that and boil on Microwave HIGH (100%) for two minutes.
  2. Remove onion and keep aside. Take butter and refined flour in a casserole and cook on Microwave HIGH (100%) for two minutes stirring once in between.
  3. Add milk, mix and cook further on Microwave MEDIUM (80%) for five minutes stirring once in between. Add nutmeg powder, salt and white pepper powder and stir.
