By Sanjeev Kapoor 25 Mar 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Hot Dog Buns, Potatoes Cuisine American Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 1.30-2 hour Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Vegetable Hot Dog 4 Hot Dog Buns 2 large Potatoes peeled, mashed (leftover) 200 grams Paneer (cottage cheese) grated 1 tablespoon Raisins 4 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 medium Onion chopped 3-4 Green chillies chopped 1 tablespoon Oil 1/2 tablespoon Red chillies crushed 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder to taste Salt 4 tablespoons Refined flour (maida) 1/2 cup Milk 1 cup Bread crumbs TO SERVE 2 medium Onions chopped 1 bunch Lettuce shredded 4 Green chillies slit 2 tablespoons Butter 4 teaspoons English mustard paste 4 teaspoons Mustard paste coarse 4 tablespoons Tomato ketchup Method Slit hot dog buns into half without cutting it into two. Soak raisins in warm water for some time before use. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a frying pan and sauté onion till translucent. Mix together paneer, potatoes, crushed red chillies, fried onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, garam masala powder, salt and raisins. Let cool. Make cylindrical shaped croquettes. Roll the croquettes in seasoned refined flour, then dip in milk and roll in the breadcrumbs. Keep them in the refrigerator for an hour or more. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry the rolls till golden brown and drain onto an absorbent kitchen towel. Apply butter on the inside of the buns, apply mustard pastes and place one spoonful of chopped onions. Spread tomato ketchup and arrange the shredded lettuce. Place the hot fried rolls, one in each bun. If you want you can put a whole green chilli. Serve immediately.
