Why is it that when you are stuck at “what should we cook today” the answer is always “make some aloo!” Potatoes are like this…extremely popular and have multipurpose usage.

And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Spicy Potato Fingers Recipe

  • Potatoes 4 large

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Salt to taste

  • Peppercorns crushed 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Chaat masala 1/2 teaspoon

  • Cheese grated 2 tablespoons


Step 1

Scrub and wash the potatoes clean. Cut into long pieces with out peeling. Put the pieces in ice-cold water. Drain.

Step 2

Heat oil and deep-fry the potato pieces till golden brown. Drain. Mix salt, crushed peppercorns, red chilli powder, chaat masala and sprinkle this on the fried potato pieces.

Step 3

Put them on a plate, sprinkle grated cheese over and bake in a preheated oven (180 °C) for 10-12 minutes. Serve.
