Ingredients list for Shakkarkand ka Halwa

  • 6-8 medium Sweet Potatoes grated
  • 5 tablespoons Khoya
  • 1/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Khoya / mawa grated
  • 1 tablespoon Cashewnuts chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Almonds chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Pistachios chopped

Method

  1. Heat 4 tbsps ghee in a non-stick pan, add sweet potatoes and saute for 12-15 minutes.
  2. Add green cardamom powder, sugar and cook, stirring continuously, till the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Add khoya and mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Heat the remaining ghee in another non-stick pan, add cashewnuts, almonds, pistachios and sauté till light golden. Add the nuts to the halwa.
  5. Transfer into serving bowls and serve.
