Ingredients list for Sandwich Pakoda

  • 4 medium Potatoes
  • to taste Gram Flour
  • 1/2 cup Mint chutney
  • 2 cups Gram flour (besan)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • a pinch Soda bicarbonate
  • to deep fry Oil

Method

  1. Slice the potatoes with skin on a slicer. Transfer into a bowl with water. Add salt and set aside.
  2. Whisk gram flour, turmeric powder, soda bicarbonate, salt and sufficient water in another bowl to make a thick and smooth batter.
  3. Remove the potato slices from the water. Wipe dry and apply mint chutney on one side of half the slices. Cover each with another slice.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dip the sandwiched pakodas in the gram flour batter and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot with green chutney.
