Add onions and sauté till they begin to change colour. Add salt, garlic paste and ginger paste. Stir and continue to sauté till lightly browned. Add turmeric powder, red chilli power and stir. Add a quarter cup of water and mix. Add tamarind pulp and mix. Reduce heat, cover and cook for three to four minutes.
