History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.
Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Paneer Roll Recipe

  • Cottage Cheese grated 1 cup

  • Refined Flour 2 teaspoons

  • Ghee 2 teaspoons

  • Milk ½ cup

  • Green capsicum finely chopped 1 medium

  • Boiled sweet corn 4 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper powder to taste

  • Dried oregano ½ teaspoon

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

  • Vermicelli for coating

  • Oil for deep-frying

  • Tomato ketchup to serve

Method

Step 1

Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add refined flour and saute on low heat for half a minute.

Step 2

Add milk and mix well. Add capsicum, sweet corn, salt, pepper powder, oregano and red chilli flakes and mix well.

Step 3

Switch off heat and add cottage cheese, mix well and transfer into a bowl.

Step 4

Crush vermicelli and spread on a plate.

Step 5

Divide cottage cheese mixture into eight equal portions and shape them into cylinders. Coat the balls with crushed vermicelli and refrigerate for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Step 6

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry the paneer rolls till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 7

Arrange the paneer rolls on a serving plate and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
