French cuisine consists of cooking traditions and practices from France. Ingredients for Moong Toast Recipe

  • Whole green gram (sabut moong) soaked boiled 1 cup

  • Brown bread slices 8

  • Onion 1 medium

  • Potatoes boiled and peeled 3 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Chaat masala 2 teaspoons

  • Pav bhaji masala 1 tablespoon

  • Coriander-mint chutney as required

  • Butter to cook

  • Onion cut into thin roundels layers separated 1 medium

Method

Step 1

Chop onion finely and put into a bowl and add green gram. Crush boiled potatoes and add.

Step 2

Add salt, chaat masala and pav bhaji masala and mix well mashing slightly.

Step 3

Apply coriander-mint chutney on all the bread slices. Spread gram mixture generously on 4 slices and cover them with the remaining.

Step 4

Apply a little butter on outer sides of the sandwiches.

Step 5

Grease a sandwich toaster with butter or oil or ghee, place a sandwich in it, close and cook on medium heat, turning sides till both sides are golden.

Step 6

Cut into 2 triangles, arrange on serving plate, garnish with onion rings and serve hot.
