Add sugar, reduce heat and simmer for eight to ten minutes. Mix gelatine in one-fourth cup of warm water and stir till dissolved. Keep aside. Remove reduced milk from heat and allow to cool a little. Add gelatine and stir to mix well. Add yogurt, nutmeg powder, cardamom powder and vanilla essence and stir again while the milk is still warm. Transfer in a serving bowl or an earthenware pot, sprinkle saffron, do not stir and allow to set overnight. Serve chilled.
