Ingredients list for Khuskhus Halwa

  • 1 cup Poppy Seeds soaked overnight
  • Ghee
  • 4 tablespoons Ghee
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/4 cup Cashewnuts
  • 1/4 cup Almonds
  • 1/4 cup Pistachios
  • 3 tablespoons Diet sugar
  • a few Almonds fried
  • a few Cashewnuts fried

Method

  1. Drain the poppy seeds and grind with very little water to a thick paste. Heat ghee in a non stick pan, add poppy seed paste and saute for about 12-15 minutes or till it turns a light brown.
  2. Reduce heat and add milk and cook, stirring continuously, till it begins to thicken. Add chopped nuts and mix well. Add diet sugar and mix well.
  3. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with fried almonds and cashewnuts and serve hot.
