Ingredients list for Funnel Cake

  • 4 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar/jaggery
  • 3 Eggs
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • for dusting Icing sugar

Method

  1. Sieve together flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Add brown sugar and mix.
  2. Cream eggs, milk and vanilla essence, in another bowl, till light. Fold in the flour mixture till smooth. Transfer the mixture into a piping bag.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a pan. Pipe out small discs and deep-fry till golden and crisp all around. Drain on absorbent paper.
  4. Dust icing sugar on top and serve hot.
