During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Americans developed a number of new foods.  What characterised the American cuisine is the adaptation of a fusion of multiple ethnic cooking styles. During this period food production and presentation became more industrialised.

Ingredients for Chocolate Chips And Jaggery Pancake Recipe

  • Chocolate Chips 1 tablespoon

  • Jaggery grated 3/4 cup

  • Wheat flour 1 1/2 cups

  • Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Cinnamon powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Baking soda a pinch

  • Cocoa powder 2 tablespoons

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Ghee for frying sealing and brushing

  • Vanilla ice cream as required

  • Chocolate sauce as required


Step 1

Sieve together wheat flour, cardamom powder, cinnamon powder, baking soda and cocoa powder into a bowl.

Step 2

Heat milk and jaggery in a deep non stick pan, stirring till jaggery dissolves. Add it to the flour mixture and mix well till smooth.

Step 3

Heat ghee in another non stick pan. Pour a ladle full of batter into the pan, and swirl the pan to spread evenly.

Step 4

Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and cook till the underside is done. Turn it over and cook the other side is equally done.

Step 5

Place a scoop of ice-cream on each pancake, drizzle a little chocolate sauce over and serve.
