Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken Salad Recipe

  • Boneless chicken breasts 2

  • Mayonnaise 1 cup

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

  • Black pepper powder to taste

  • A pinch of MSG (optional)

  • Celery stalk sliced thinly 1

  • Apple 1 small

  • Egg hard boiled 1

  • Carrots sliced thinly, blanched 2 medium

  • Onion sliced thinly 1 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Lettuce leaves 4

Method

Step 1

Boil chicken breasts in salted water for fifteen minutes. Cool and shred. Sprinkle lemon juice, a pinch of salt, black pepper powder and MSG.

Step 2

Soak celery in chilled water for ten minutes. Drain and wipe dry.

Step 3

Peel and core apple and slice thinly. Soak in salt chilled water for ten minutes and drain.

Step 4

Chop egg white and pass the yolk through a sieve.

Step 5

Place chicken, celery, apple, egg white, carrots and onion in a bowl.

Step 6

Pour over mayonnaise and toss well. Adjust salt and black pepper powder.

Step 7

Arrange lettuce leaves in a serving plate and transfer salad on it. Garnish with sieved yolk and serve immediately.
