Ingredients list for Cheesy Fried Mushrooms

  • ½ cup Mozzarella cheese grated
  • 12-16 Mushrooms stems removed
  • ½ cup Processed cheese grated
  • 1 Spring onions with greens
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • to deep fry Oil
  • + for dusting Refined flour (maida) 1 cup
  • for coating Bread crumbs

Method

  1. Finely chop spring onion with greens and place in a bowl. Add green chillies, salt, crushed peppercorns, mozzarella cheese and processed cheese and mix well.
  2. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
  3. Take flour in a bowl. Add water as required and whisk well to make a thick smooth batter.
  4. Stuff mushrooms with the cheese mixture and press.
  5. Spread breadcrumbs on a plate.
  6. Add salt and crushed peppercorns to the batter and mix well.
  7. Dust stuffed mushrooms with flour, dip in batter, coat in breadcrumbs and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  8. Serve hot.
