Ingredients for Bun French Toast with Onion and Tomato Recipe

  • Buns 2

  • Eggs 3

  • Onion 1 large

  • Tomato 1 medium

  • Oil 4 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves 2-3 sprigs

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Tomato ketchup 2 tablespoons

  • Red chilli sauce 1 teaspoon

  • Spring onion greens cut into thin strips 1 stalk

Method

Step 1

Heat 2 tbsps oil in each of 2 non-stick pans.

Step 2

Slice onion and add to one pan. Chop tomato roughly.

Step 3

Break eggs into a bowl, add salt and whisk well. Chop coriander leaves and add and mix. Add ¼ tsp red chilli powder and mix.

Step 4

Halve buns and soak them in the egg mixture and cook them in the 2nd pan.

Step 5

Add tomato to the onions when they turn golden and mix. Add tomato ketchup and mix. Add salt, ¼ tsp red chilli powder and red chilli sauce and mix well. Cook till tomato turns soft.

Step 6

Flip the bun halves and cook on the other side too.

Step 7

Place the bun halves on serving plates, spread the onion-tomato chutney over them.

Step 8

Garnish with spring onion green strips and serve hot immediately.
