Bhadang

Ingredients 

  • 4 cups puffed rice (kurmura / murmura)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic cloves, sliced
  • ½ cup raw peanuts
  • 1 sprig of curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried mango powder (amchur)
  • Salt to taste

Method 

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic and raw peanuts and sauté on low heat for 4-5 minutes. Add curry leaves and sauté till fragrant on low heat.
  2. Add red chilli powder, dried mango powder, salt and mix well and sauté for 1 minute on low heat.
  3. Add puffed rice, mix well and sauté for 6-8 minutes on low heat. Switch off the heat. Set aside to cool down.
  4. Transfer bhadang into an airtight container and serve as and when required.
