Ingredients list for Avil Kesari
- 2 cups Pressed Rice
- Few strand Saffron
- 1/2 cup Ghee
- 10 Cashewnuts
- 1/2 cup Raisins
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
Method
- Soak saffron in a cup of hot water. Heat ghee in a pan and fry raisins and cashewnuts till golden. Drain and keep aside. Soak poha in water and drain immediately Heat the leftover ghee and sauté the poha till pink.
- Add saffron water and cook till nearly dry. Add sugar and continue to cook till completely dry. Add green cardamom powder, cashewnuts and raisins. Mix well and serve.
