Ingredients for Apple and Walnut Raita Recipe

  • Apple peeled and cut into small cubes 1 medium

  • Walnut broken 10-12

  • Yogurt 2 cups

  • Sugar 3 tablespoons

  • Chaat masala 1 tbsp + 1

  • Rose water 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida a pinch

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh mint leaves 10-12

  • Roasted cumin powder to sprinkle

Method

Step 1

Mix together yogurt, sugar, 1 tbsp chaat masala and whisk well. Add rose water and salt and mix well.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add asafoetida, apple and toss. Add walnuts and sauté till the apples are lightly caramelized. Add red chilli powder and remaining chaat masala and toss. Transfer into a bowl.

Step 3

Add mint leaves, 1 cup yogurt and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl. Add the remaining yogurt. Sprinkle roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder and garnish with a walnut. Serve.
