Ingredients list for Aloo Aur Shakkarkand Ke Kabab

  • 2 medium Potato boiled and peeled
  • 2 medium Sweet Potato boiled and peeled
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black salt (kala namak)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • as required Green chutney
  • as required Sweet date and tamarind chutney

Method

  1. Heat a little oil on a non stick grill pan. Cut potatoes into 1 inch cubes and place them in a bowl.
  2. Cut sweet potatoes into 1 inch cubes and place them into another bowl. Sprinkle salt over both.
  3. Add ¼ tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp roasted cumin powder, ¼ tsp black salt and 1 tbsp oil to each bowl and mix.
  4. Thread sweet potatoes and potatoes alternately onto satay sticks.
  5. Place the satay sticks on the grill pan and cook rotating the sticks.
  6. Baste with butter and cook till lightly golden.
  7. Remove onto a serving plate, drizzle green chutney and sweet chutney over the kababs and serve hot.
