Ingredients
- 1 medium bunch of spinach (palak), blanched and drained
- 2 green chillies, broken
- ½ inch ginger
- 3 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
- ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- Oil for greasing + for shallow frying
- Tomato ketchup to serve
Method
- Coarsely grind together blanched spinach, green chillies and ginger in a mixer without using any water. Transfer into a large bowl.
- Add potatoes, garam masala powder and salt and mix till well combined. Add fresh breadcrumbs and mix well.
- Grease your hands with some oil and take a small portion of the mixture and shape it like a ball. Slightly flatten to shape it like a cutlet.
- Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick shallow pan. Slide in the cutlets and shallow fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange the cutlets on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
