Mishti Makhana

  • 200 grams puffed lotus seeds (makhana)
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon green cardamom powder
  • ¼ teaspoon fennel powder


  1. Heat ghee in a kadai, add makhana and sauté on medium heat for 5-6 minutes or till crisp. Transfer onto a plate and set aside.
  2. Heat a kadai, add sugar and 2 tablespoons water and cook till sugar caramelizes. 
  3. Add green cardamom powder and fennel powder and mix well. Add makhana and mix well.
  4. Transfer onto a plate and allow to cool. 
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve.
