Ingredients
- ¾ cup tamarind
- ¾ cup chopped jaggery
- ¼ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- ¼ teaspoon black salt
- Ice cubes as required
Method
- Take 1½ cups water in a bowl and soak tamarind in it for 25-30 minutes.
- Strain the tamarind through a fine strainer into another bowl squeezing the tamarind to extract the pulp. Add jaggery and mix till it melts.
- Add black salt and roasted cumin powder and mix well. This is the tamarind syrup.
- Pour 2 tablespoons tamarind syrup into each serving glass, add ice cubes and top up with chilled water. Mix and serve immediately.
