Aval Shake

Brown flattened rice gets a sassy makeover with milk and ripe bananas made into a shake. It is nutty and filling with peanuts adding a light crunch.

Ingredients 

Method 

  1. Heat a non-stick pan, add pressed brown rice and dry roast till crisp. Transfer onto a plate and allow to cool. Reserve some for garnish. 
  2. Peel the bananas, break them into pieces and put them into a jar. Add sugar and muddle with a wooden muddler till well mashed.
  3. For each portion put 2-3 tablespoons mixture into the serving glass. Add 2 teaspoons roasted peanuts and 2 tablespoons roasted pressed rice and mix well.
  4. Add ice cubes and top with ½ cup milk, mix well and garnish with roasted peanuts and roasted pressed brown rice. Serve chilled.
