Ingredients list for Walnut Nankhatai - SK Khazana
- 1/2 cup California walnuts coarsely crushed
- as required Whole California walnuts
- 1 1/2 cups Refined flour (maida)
- 3/4 cup Powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup Gram flour (besan)
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- 1 cup Desi ghee
Method
- Preheat oven to 180° C. Line a baking tray with a silicon mat.
- Take refined flour in a mixing bowl, add powdered sugar, gram flour, baking powder, baking soda, cardamom powder and crushed California Walnuts and mix well. Add ghee and mix till you get a breadcrumb consistency. Then knead with your hands into a semi soft dough.
- Divide the dough into equal portions, shape into balls and flatten lightly between your palms.
- Place them on the lined baking tray, place one California Walnut in the center of each nankhatai and press lightly.
- Keep the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven and cool down to room temperature.
- Serve or store in an air tight container to serve when required.
