Ingredients
- 200 grams ladyfingers, halved
- 2 teaspoons poppy seeds, soaked for ½ hour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons mustard seeds
- 3-4 green chillies
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons mustard oil
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon onion seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
Method
- Drain the poppy seeds and grind to a fine paste with sufficient water and transfer in a bowl. Make a paste of mustard seeds and green chillies and set aside.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onion seeds and let it crackle.
- Add ladyfingers and cook for two minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, salt and sugar and cook for a minute. Add the green chillies and mustard paste, cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the poppy seeds paste, mix well. Cover it with a lid and cook for 2 minutes.
- Once the gravy is thick, switch of the heat.
- Serve hot garnished with coriander.
