Ingredients list for Upavasachi Amti
- 1 1/2 cup Raw Peanuts dry roasted and powdered
- 4 Coconut finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- 1/2 tablespoon Jaggery (gur) grated
- 1 tablespoon Fresh coconut scraped
- to taste Salt
- a few sprigs Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 4 Cloves
Method
- Combine peanut powder, green chillies, lemon juice, jaggery, fresh coconut, salt and two to three cups of water.
- Boil mixture for twenty to twenty five minutes, if necessary add more water. (It must be of dal consistency) When the mixture is ready, keep it aside. Heat ghee in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds and cloves. When they crackle add the temper to the amti (mixture). Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and scraped fresh coconut. Serve hot.
